Neighbors

“The working title for the project is Neighbors, a series of short stories about six individuals (DJ Brown Amy, Mike Giant, Elgy Gillespie, Dick Vivian, Fran Martin, and Dylan Bigby) from various neighborhoods in San Francisco. Part conversational interview, part documentary – we get to know the individual in the context of their work and home environments, in order to gain a deeper understanding of their influences on the community.”

Fine Art Photographer Anastasiia Sapon is originally from Ukraine, but resides in San Francisco now. She is currently in the process of acquiring a visa to stay in the country, but as an artist that’s not so easy. Her future in San Francisco is now in the hands of the Immigration Officers reviewing her case. It’s already a struggle being an artist, and it’s an even bigger one being an immigrant as well. NakedSF wishes her luck!

Anastasiia shoots a lot of amazing portraits as well as self-portraits. This is a series of self portraits in which she shows her different sides. http://www.anastasiiasapon.com/changes

Check out some of her other work on her website. It’s pretty great!

[About Self Portraits] “For me it’s not the way to show myself, it’s the way to see myself. it’s like “Self-Portrait Therapy”. I get my thoughts together and it calms me down.

I’m always trying to follow my dreams even if they change or transform with time.”
